About Us

The Cygnaeus School's Parents' Association has been active since it was established in 1995 for the benefit of the school's students. The association consists of parents of students and other parties interested in the Parents' Association. 

The Parents' Association actively organizes various events for students and families throughout the year. These include the much anticipated Halloween and Valentine's Day discos, as well as the big back to school event, the Fall Fest at school. Parents and grandparents have always provided great contributions to all the events through donations or volunteering! 

The Parents' Association also funds class trips, the largest of which is the 6th grade class trip to Huikee park, which is fully funded by the parents' association. Grants have been awarded for recess equipment, when needed. 

The parents' association has an elected board, chosen each year. The board prepares the proposed and to be decided matters for the meetings. They work hand-in-hand with active Parents' Association members to plan and staff the events.

Our annual meeting is held in the fall, where the board is elected and the events for the year are decided. Monthly meetings are held during the school year. All meetings are open to all members. 

There are many ways to participate in the Parents' Association: by becoming a member, volunteering or supporting us through donations. This way, everyone can find the best way for them to get involved. Everyone's contribution is just as valuable!
