Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to join as a member?
Becoming a member of the parents' association is voluntary. The parents' association cannot automatically register all parents of the school's students as members, but each must register as a member each year. However, membership has many advantages.
By participating in the school's parent activities, you show your child that you are interested in the child's everyday life, friends and well-being. The parents' presence and active cooperation with the school staff tells the child that the parents want to work together for the children's benefit. The young people appreciate the parents' positive and goal-oriented cooperation with the school's adults.
Parental activity opens a vantage point into the everyday life of the school, and into the growth and operating environment where children and young people spend a lot of their time. Through parental activities, you get to know the adults at school, your child's friends and their household.
By actively participating in the everyday life of the school, parents can support the work of teachers in many ways. At its best, parenting is a joint effort, a shared understanding with the school about how we can support the growth, learning and holistic well-being of children and young people.
Activities organized by parents at school strengthen the sense of community. A communal and open operating culture supports the staff's ability to cope, promotes a positive atmosphere, and increases the feeling of security and mutual trust.
The parents' association operates entirely on volunteers and every year they have to finance their activities. Membership fees and supporting membership fees are an important source of funds at the beginning of the year. Fundraising takes place throughout the year and all money collected is used directly for the benefit of the students.
Members also have the opportunity to take advantage of the benefits that the association tailors for them through partners.
